SAN MIGUEL GOLF SOCIETY AT LA FINCA 25th JANUARY 2012
Today was our monthly visit to La Finch Golf Course with a turnout of 49 Members and Guests. It was a cold morning with a mist hanging over the course, there were footprints and buggy tracks to be seen on the fairways of the groups that had ventured out before us, but it wasn’t long before the sun came out making it feel a little warmer has our game got underway. With it being rather wet underfoot, we found putting out rather slow, which is not to everyone’s liking, but still had good scores coming in with three of our members John Osborne (Gold) 37pts.Ken Flaherty (Silver) 40pts and that man again Norman Patmore (Bronze) 41pts all in for big cuts from the Handicap Secretary. It was nice to see some familiar faces back with us for a while and in the prizes. Captain Shelia donated and presented prizes for Nearest the Pin in 3 shots to Gold. Barry Roehrig. Silver. Kenny Hunter and Bronze. Robbie Rea. For full Competition Results can be found on our Website. Anyone is more than welcome to join us for a game any Wednesday whether you wish to become a member or not. We’re a friendly bunch so even if you’re just here on holiday and you want to squeeze a game in, give us a call and we’ll do our best to oblige. SAN MIGUEL GOLF SOCIETY AT ALICANTE GOLF 18TH JANUARY 2012
After two nights of rain the weather wasn’t looking too good on Wednesday. There were dark clouds hanging over us when we turned up at Alicante Golf to play the first round of the President’s Trophy which is a Stableford Competition. After having our toast and coffee supplied by the club, the first group went out to find the sun breaking through the clouds and it turned out to be a super day after all. With a smaller field today which we expect at Alicante Golf the reason being it’s where it is. You could not fault the fairways or greens, they were in excellent condition. Scoring was quite low this week with only one person breaking par and that was a Visitor namely Richard Scott. Results as follows.
