ALICANTE.................1ST APRIL  09..........2ND ROUND PRESIDENTS TROPHY

 

The course had received a lot of rain pior to our meeting but obviously drains well because the course was quite dry  .The course ws playing long with the tees nearly at the whites.

A low turn out again here so only two categories John Jones won the gold with 36 points and second was Les Yates coming back to form after injury with 31 points Alan Tickner

was third with 30 points and captains prize for fourth went to Ken Flaherty.

Alan Rickers won the silver group with 34 points and second was our presidente Ray Battiste with 32 points and third went to Lloyd Knock with 30 points and captains prize for fourth place went to Norman Mcbride.

 

 PERALEJA...................8TH APRIL 09...................STABLEFORD

 

Today was to have been a medal comp but as very few members had played this course

it was decided to change  the comp to a stableford.Again only two categories and as mentioned last week back to form Les Yates won the gold wih 34 points and second was Baray Roehrig with 33 points and another third for Alan Tickner with 30 points.Silver was won by Glen Rapley with 30 points and second went to Lloyd Knock with 29 points.John

Jones was third with also 29 points

 

 LA SERENA                15TH APRIL.........................STABLEFORD

 

This is not a golf course not when you need a boat and paddles to get round.when the wind blows it sure blows at La Serena.Anyway to the golf and the many many lost balls

Iit shows how confident we were playing this course we even had a sweep stake on how many ball were lost.

Taking all of that above  our Presidente  shot a score of 38 points well done Ray Battiste

in winning the silver category second was Don Marshall with 34 points and third was Norman Mcbride with 33 points

Golg category went to Ken Flaherty with 36 points and second to Baray Roehrig yet again

with 35 points and third went to Mike Jordan  with 32 points.

Course in immaculate condition so was the weather and so were the scores.Put that together and you have a medal competition for 48 players.

Gold was won Alan Rixon( he's won a few this year so far) with a net 71.second was John Jones with a net 72 on count back from Mike Jordan also 72 net.Silver was won by Norman Mcbride with a net 71 on count back from Alan Rickers also 71 net and third was Rob Ross with net 76.Bronze was won with the best score of the day a net 68 by David Marshall.second was Mrs Joan Adams with a net 73 third went to Lloyd Knock with a net 74.

An afternoon start with everything just right with good turnout of members

Gold was won by Rob Neill with 37 points second was Mike Freeman on count back with 35 points and third Sonny Edling with also 35 points captains prize for fourth place went to Alan Rixon with also 35 points.Silver category was won byMike Jordan with the highest score of the day 43 points get him into gold second place was again Alan Rickers with 36 points and third went to Chris Holmwood on count back with 33 points and captains fourth prize went to Frank Davies also with 33 points.Bronze category was won by our Hon Sec Ron Nicholson with 33 points and Derek Mclean was second with 32 points and third with 31 points was Gordon Boyne
