The Eclectic competition was played over 3 games at Cub de Golf Bonalba.As we know this is not one of the easier courses to play,so suprisingly the results are good.Gordon Boyne came in 3rd place with a return of 43 points,he was just pipped into 2nd place by Captain's son in law Alan Tickner with a good 44 points,but it took 46 points from Nigel Goude to take the Trophy.

BOGEY'S MEDAL SHIELD
For this event there were 5 qualifying rounds ,This time the competition was staged at various courses throughout the year,each player being able to select the best 3 cards from the 5 allowed.Medal is probably the toughest format of the game,so it came as no suprise that the winning total was just 1 stroke under par,This score returned by the Captain's wife Marg. Birtwistle,2nd place (+5)went to a steady player who until lately has been very consistant,Alan Rickers.In 3rd place way back on +10 (this tells you how difficult Medal is) was Frank Davies.Pictured below are the winners receiving their prizes from Captain Phil.

PRESIDENTS TROPHY
The Presidents Stableford Trophy,was again over 5 games these being played at the likes of Alenda,El Plantio,Altorreal and of course Alicante Golf. This was an accumulative scoring system,taking the best 3 cards again,There's that man again Alan Rickers,in 3rd place with a total of 110 points,just ahead of him was our Captain for 2008/9 Brian Hellier-Woods with 114 points,but coming out on top from the gold category Les Yates with an unbeatable 119 points
The prize for the winner was donated by a member of the F.A. in the U.K (Captain has useful friends !)
