JOKES

1/ The participants of a four-ball were half way through their regular Saturday morning round and approaching the tenth green which skirted the main road when a funeral cortège slowly started to pass the course. These four players had known each other for many years so it was quite a surprise to the others when Fred removed his cap, stood silently looking skyward for a short time before eventually taking up his position to read his forthcoming putt. “That was very respectful of you, Fred” said Bill as they walked to the next tee, “I had no idea you were so religious”. “Well, what can you do?” Fred wistfully replied “She’s been a very good wife to me for over 35 years !”

2/ Four beginners were causing a little bit of a backlog on the course and were still on the 10th tee when the following group of Germans caught them up. One of the English lads was just about to hit his ball which was about 6 inches in front of the tee markers when one of the very precise German group shouted "Stop! You cannot hit the ball from there, you must be level with the yellow markers." Managing to stop in mid swing the lad politely replied, "OK, OK I know what I'm doing, just let it be will you."

Again he took up his stance and slowly drew back his club only to be interrupted again, "No, no this is not right," the German guy insisted, "You must play to the proper rules and move your ball back!" As the English lad looked ready to give the German guy a clump with his club, one of his pals took control and glared at the German saying, "Look pal, will you just keep quiet while my mate takes his second shot!!"
