El Valle 7th March

This being the last match of the season and with ourselves assured of 2nd place,the pressure was off ! and it showed. The course played well and if you have played this course,you will know how tricky the greens can be.As it happens the Hi5 tour played here just a few days before us and yes the pins were in the toughest of positions,added to this it was a cold, windy day (but at least it didn't rain) maybe this had something to do with the low scoring.

The comments in the club house later seemed to be on the theme of, I had 5 blobs and another 6 blobs ect. etc.

As can be seen from the card above,all games were close,in fact John and Joe were never up on their opponents until going up the last,were as they walked the fairway,they were suprised to find that they were actually level,and with John getting a shot on this hole they made it pay off,Joe's 2 points and John's 3 points could not be matched.

League Captain Barry and Ken Flaherty also had a tight game (even if Barry did have 5 blobs or was it 6),who cares anyway,we had a resounding victory 15 points to 0

I have to say, that here as at most courses in Murcia the player does not get penalised for hitting his ball off line,because almost all of the rough is abnormal ground condition and you get a free drop.It makes you wonder what the scores would have been without this rule.
