San Miguel GS  V  La Manga North GS

La Finca 5^th February

What a beautiful winters day at La Finca, the course was in good condition and with the wind getting up it played its usual difficult self with club selection being the main problem.

We played La Manga North today who we think were sponsored by a range-finders company as all there players used them as were other teams so we as a committee might have to re consider the use of them as the other teams in the league that use them have a advantage over us. The last pair of the  La Manga team according to Phil were from the German panzer division and at one time had him against a wall quizzing him about his handicap but Phil after stripping of and showing them his scars from his recent operation convinced them that he was playing of the right handicap which is more than I can say about the guy we played against playing of 18 and after 9 holes had 23 points including a birdie on the 9^th, but a few suttle comments at the right time his back 9 was not so good.

Any way we won the match 3-1 and also picked up the 3 bonus points, results as follows,

With one game to go we are in second place where we should remain.
